Kawasaki : Meguro S1

Half a century has passed since the birth of the Kawasaki 500cc K2, 
the last Meguro brand from Kawasaki Aircraft Industry,
following the MEGURO K3, which promised to revive Meguro in 2021, 
the MEGURO S1 was announced as a premium product at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show.
As the model name suggests, this model inherits the concept of Meguro SG, 
which Kawasaki sold as the last Meguro brand in the 250cc class.
Also, 2024 will be a memorial commemorating the 100th anniversary 
of the founding of Meguro Manufacturing and Out of respect for the TYPE-S Junior, 
which was also in the popular Old Meguro series, 
it was named "S1" with the intention of restarting the TYPE-S.

The engine used is a 230cc SOHC, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine.
The engine is based on the off-roader "KLX230S" which will be re-released in Japan 
as a 2024 model, with a remake of the form.
Details have not been announced, but we were able to inherit a cooling method 
that has become less common as it cleared the 2020 exhaust gas regulations.
It is also equipped with beautiful cooling fins that can be said to be the beauty 
of a motorcycle engine.
The crankcase below the waist is also rounded, arranging the design form 
of the former Meguro Junior series.
Even the exterior has been arranged to be suitable for a Meguro brand bike.
The spoke wheels, single round headlight, and teardrop-shaped fuel tank 
inherit the black-painted cloud-shaped pattern bordered by white lines 
on the plated base that was the design of the Meguro Junior series.
The tank badge attached there reproduces the traditional "Meguro Wing" design 
similar to the K3. Also equipped with rubber knee pads.
Both side covers have the "Meguro" logo in KATAKANA to match the K3 concept.
Although the exhaust system is easily affected by exhaust gas regulations, 
it is equipped with a cabton type muffler that is cleverly and classically shaped.
The brake system for both the front and rear wheels has been changed 
from the conventional drum type to a disc type.
The seat has changed from the previous saddle-type seat to the current dual tandem seat.
However, depending on future specifications, a single-seat model may appear.
Pursuing a classic atmosphere down to the smallest detail.
