Meguro 300cc : J3 Junior Meguro 300cc : J3 Junior is manufactured and sold from June, 1952 as the last model of the old junior series. It was the appearance of development improvement being done by J2(250cc) popular Junior. It is updated by G3 type and the 288cc single cylinder OHV 4 cycle engine with which change (65x75->70x75) of a boa was made for the purpose of the improvement in an output performance from August although J3 was only 250cc at the beginning. However, by user request, though it is J3, the conventional specification of 250cc will also be sold collectively, and there are both specifications of 250cc and 300cc till 'April, 53. S Junior of the new Junior series to which 250cc class was reinforced in April of the same year, and the improvement design was carried out at the base in J3 from the same year having revision of a motorcycle driver's license system, the motorcycle to 250cc having become lightweight motorbike classification, and acquisition having become easy from the conventional automatic motorcycle driver's license was developed, and was made to appear. Therefore, J3 will continue and produce only 300cc class, carried out some exclusive improvement, and was set to J3A. Henceforth, sale of J3A is continued till '56 collected by Y2 Rex of 350cc class with S3 Junior who is 250cc class whose performance improved. The gross-product number of J3 and J3A is made into about 2900 sets. In the improvement from J2 Junior, since engine was updated in 4 cycle G3 type and the single cylinder OHV of 300cc class (288 cc), the horsepower output is improving to 8HP. Although there was nothing in others except that the front fork was designed newly, the design of a fuel tank was changed and it became the high touch of a grade similar to Z3(500cc) etc. Since it was only for 300cc after being set to J3A, the form of a muffler was changed. Moreover, by the patent mechanism which Meguro developed newly at the same time, adoption is carried out and convenience of the endless type gearbox (rotary missions) which new-appeared is improving. Since it was changed into the design and specification which were similar just before the selling end with S2 Junior, the design of a fuel tank became being the same as that of S2. Therefore, the emblem of the Meguro-wing is also replaced with the plate of Cloisonne with a high-class feeling from the transfer (transfer type) from the multi-color printing sheet currently used till then. In addition, 300cc class was also called by his pet name of a "Junior".
